EMERSON INDIA - CONTINENTAL CARBON, CARBON BLACK PLANT

Continental Carbon India Ltd., Ghaziabad, a wholly owned subsidiary of Continental Carbon, USA, manufactures carbon black product for the Indian market. Their plant was automated by Emerson India and Jacobs H&G were the consultants. The process control was facilitated through DeltaV Distributed Control System (DCS).

Emerson had selected Aura for the Instrumentation services for various facilities, which included:

• Reactors


• Bag Filter


• Dryer


• Conveying System


• Cooling Tower

Aura had provided services including Procurement, Testing, Erection, Loop Checking and Commissioning assistance for the project. The project has been completed and commissioned successfully as per the client's scheduled time of 3 months.

TATA HONEYWELL - BPCL, TERMINAL AUTOMATION

Tata Honeywell had awarded Aura, the contract for Testing, Calibration, Installation and Commissioning of the Terminal Automation system for the road gantry application for BPCL at their Sanganer and Salawas Terminals.

Earlier, the White Oil loading at these terminals was done manually. However, it's now fully automated. The key components involved in the automation were Batch Controllers, Card Readers, P.D. Meters, Prover Tank, Remote Terminal Units and Programmable Logic Controller. The project was commissioned and handed over to the customer in February 2003.

LARSEN & TOUBRO - IOCL, HYDROTREATER PLANT

A significant achievement of Aura had been the contract awarded by Larsen & Toubro Limited (L&T), EPC contractors for the Hydrotreater Plant at Digboi Refinery of Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. Engineers India Limited (EIL) were the Project Management Consultants.

The purpose of the hydro-treatment facility of this refinery was to improve the quality of High-Speed Diesel Oil.

Aura's services had covered Testing, Calibration, Installation and Commissioning of Instrumentation Package. Some of the areas required special attention towards welding and welding joints. Stress relieving tests had to be performed and radiography was carried out to ensure elimination of any leakages. Simulation checks were performed towards success of 350 closed loop operations. The project has been completed and commissioned successfully.

SIEMENS - HINDALCO, THERMAL POWER PLANT

Siemens Ltd. had to set up facilities for Hindalco for enhancing the capacity of it's thermal power plant at Renusagar in Sonebhadra district of Uttar Pradesh.

Siemens has retained Aura's services to execute the instrumentation package for a section of this power plant, which includes:

• 2 Steam Turbines of 80 MW each with matching Synchronous Generators, Generator-Transformers, Microprocessor based controls, Valves and all other associated auxiliaries.


• 2 Pulverized Fuel-Fired Steam Generators of 160 TPH capacity each with matching Electrostatic Precipitators.

The scope-of-work includes Testing, Calibration, Installation, Loop checking and Commissioning assistance. The project is currently under execution and is scheduled for completion in 10 months.

MITSUI KENSETSU- HONDA, DG-COMPRESSOR COOLING TOWER AUTOMATION

Aura was awarded the contract to be the prime consultant to Mitsui Kensetsu India Ltd. for the automation of the DG, Compressor Cooling Tower of Honda Scooters at Mannesar, Haryana.

For this project Aura had provided concept to commissioning services including System Design, Detailed Engineering, Procurement, Installation, Testing and Commissioning of the entire Instrumentation and Automation system.

The process control was facilitated through Siemens Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) Logo 24 RC with display.

The plant has been completed and commissioned within the scheduled time of 2 months and is operating successfully. This automation was first of its kind in this plant. Based on the success of the first phase, the client has taken a decision to get similar automation implemented in their other areas as well.

KHANNA PAPER MILLS, PAPER PLANT

Khanna Paper Mills is one of the top ten paper producers in India. Aura had bagged the contract to execute the instrumentation for their entire Paper Plant of 120 TPD capacity, in Amritsar.The major facilities in this project included:

• Boiler of capacity 70TPH


• Turbine of capacity 10.5MW

• Cooling Tower


• Burner Management System.

Aura's scope-of-work included Procurement, Testing, Calibration, Erection, Loop checking and Commissioning Services. This project was completed in a record time of 4 months.

PUNJ LLOYD/SIIRTEC NIGI - IOCL, SULPHUR RECOVERY UNIT

Punj Lloyd / SINI awarded Aura, the Testing, Calibration, Erection and Commissioning contract for the facilities of Sulphur Recovery unit of Indian Oil Corporation Ltd., Guwahati. Engineers India Limited (EIL) were the Project Management Consultants.

The process facilities included Sulphur Recovery, DG, Flare Stack, Compressor, N2 Plant, Tank Farm, DM Water plant and Cooling Tower.

The various instruments involved were Analyzers, Vibration Monitors, Flame Detectors, Safety Relief Valves along with other conventional instruments.

Aura had executed the project to a demanding schedule and the entire project was completed in a record time of 9 months to the entire satisfaction of client, consultant and the end user. Aura also received an appreciation letter from the client for the services rendered for this project.

LARSEN & TOUBRO - IOCL, FLARE STACK

Aura has added another feather in it's cap by winning the turnkey Instrumentation & Electrical contract for Flare Stack at Digboi Refinery of Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. Larsen & Toubro Limited (L&T), are the EPC contractors.

The scope includes the total Instrumentation and Electrical activities such as Design, Selection, Supply and Integration of the entire system from inception to completion.

The project is currently under execution and the time duration allotted is 4 months.

FEDO - HINDUSTAN INSECTICIDES, PESTICIDE FORMULATION PLANT

Hindustan Insecticides Ltd. have set up their Pesticide Formulation Plant at Bhatinda in consultation with FACT Engineering and Design Organization (FEDO).

Aura was awarded a turnkey contract that included Design, Selection, Supply and Integration of Instrumentation for the complete plant. This project is steadily progressing towards completion.

OUTSOURCED ENGINEERING SERVICES

We have pioneered the concept of outsourced Engineering Services exclusively for the process control and automation industries. It is a method by which a defined deliverable is provided by external resources without the need to hire additional or contract staff. We provide these services for all the engineering phases of a process automation project.

Aura is currently executing two prestigious global contracts. One is for a Refinery application in Europe for Flue Gas Scrubbing and Sulphur Regeneration Plant. It's a 12,000 engineering man-hours contract. The scope-of-work involves Instrumentation Design, Detailed Engineering Services that include preparation of:

Another contract is for an Offshore project in Europe for Safety Shutdown System. This is a Triple Modular Redundant PLC based system.
